Brand new for Kazakhstan, Islamic finance transactions have been becoming more and more popular.  Our team of lawyers provides advice on the core practice areas of Islamic finance, providing the necessary knowledge and expertise to conduct and structure Islamic finance transactions.  

Our knowledge of Islamic financing structures, local legal and regulatory environment and our strong commitment to help our clients bring transactions to life, place us in an excellent position to address and resolve the issues that arise in various aspects of Islamic financing in Kazakhstan.

• assistance with the establishment of an issuing company;
• drafting and editing of transaction documents;
• drafting of a legal opinion on the issuing of Islamic securities (including Sukuk);
• interaction with the transaction parties and government authorities.

Recent Experience:

• advice to the Islamic Development Bank on a Murabaha (Shariah compliant) transaction;
• advice to an agricultural holding on a financing transaction by the Islamic Development Bank;
• advice on a potential transaction regarding the issuance of sovereign sukuk (ongoing); and
• advice to a creditor on the transaction of Idzhara (leasing), including issues of an aircraft motor pledge.
