On 11 December 2018, Nurlan Kyshtobaev, partner of Bishkek office of GRATA International (Kyrgyzstan) conducted a guest lecture to students of the International Business Law Department of the American University of Central Asia. He spoke about investment and concession agreements and shared his expertise in the area.

The Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) was launched on the 5 July 2018. It is a financial hub located in Astana, Kazakhstan. The aims of AIFC are to attract investment and bring in clients from Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
In 2017 the International Federation of Consulting Engineers has introduced major amendments to FIDIC 1999 Yellow, Red and Silver Books which have been in use in the construction industry for almost twenty years.

Kyrgyz law identifies insurance activity as an activity of organisations that have a license to provide services to individuals and legal entities for premium services, the subject of which are contractual specific obligations of the insurer in the event of an unknown event, with the distribution of risk among a large number of persons exposed to such a risk, calculated on the basis of the principle calculation of large numbers.
From 15 February the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On the use of medical devices” dated 2 August 2017 No.166 shall take its effect. This law regulates issues on use, safety of production, manufacture, storage, sale, disposal of medical devices.

On 30 November 2017 in Bishkek GRATA International organised a practical seminar: Roadmap to Profitable Small Hydro Power Plant Development, together with international engineering firm ILF Consulting Engineers.
On November 28th, 2017 Nurlan Kyshtobaev, partner of GRATA International Bishkek office conducted a guest lecture on “concession agreements” and “how law firms operate”. The lecture was read to the students of International Business Law department of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) within the course “Investment Law and Sustainable Development”. Earlier this year, GRATA International in Bishkek signed a MoU with AUCA on cooperation.
This project is realized with the help of IFC and supported by several development organizations, such as KfW, which is acting on behalf of the German Development Ministry and the governments of Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
A new Instruction on the procedure for registering the right of claim for the performance of obligations (under the contract) in respect of movable property is adopted.
