The Second Atyrau Legal Seminar focused on «Current Issues and Analysis of the Practical Application of Laws to the Oil and Gas Industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan» was held by Tengizchevroil LLP and Kazakhstan Petroleum Lawyers' Association on April 9, 2004 in Atyrau (Kazakhstan).
The Seminar included 2 sessions:
- Environmental protection laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan: a real means of improving control or a tool for increasing state revenues;
- Investment contracts signed before the adoption of the laws. Effective implementation of contracts under current conditions.
A Managing Partner of GRATA Law Firm, Mr. Tlek Baigabulov and a Partner of the firm, Mr. Abay Alimov took active part in the Seminar. Mr. Alimov spoke on «The Problems of application of tax stability norms to subsoil use contracts».
In general, the Legal Seminar was of great interest for the representatives of national and foreign companies, eminent legal scholars and state bodies.
