On June 30, 2005 in the Dostyk Hotel, Almaty the International Conference titled «Law and Economics for the future of the Republic of Kazakhstan» was held. The event was organized by the Centre of European Law and Economic Studies in KazHLU in conjunction with the co-ordinators of the Tempus Tasis Project «ESCALADE» from the European Universities: Milan Catholic University, Utrecht University, Cambridge University; and the representatives of the Kazakh Universities: Kazakh Humanitarian and Law University, Kazakh -American University.

The conference consisted of 2 parts: «Law, Economics and Business in Kazakhstan: a multilateral approach» and «Europe and Kazakhstan: cooperation and perspectives in the field of education» Mr. Mindagulov Al'ken, Pro-rector on sciences and international relations of the Kazakh Humanitarian and Law University, Doctor of legal sciences, Professor chaired the conference.

The participants included Vice-Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vice-Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Committee for supervision and attestation in sector of education and science attached to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Managing Partners of GRATA Law Firm: Mrrs. Tlek Baigabulov and Aidar Sarymsakov; representatives of Kazakhstani law firm and foreign companies operating in Kazakhstan, Managers of the UE projects in Kazakhstan and others.

At the end of the Conference the Conference Statement was made.
