On February 2, 2006 a business forum of the Kazakhstan and Ukrainian representatives of official and business circles was held in Almaty. The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the frame of the Kazakhstan Year in Ukraine's events.

The Union of the industrialists and entrepreneurs and the League of oilmen of Ukraine, aircraft, engineering, construction, oil companies and other big enterprisers formed the Ukrainian delegation.

The Kazakhstan participants included: the Central Asian Mining Union, the representatives of the engineering, petroleum-refining, servicing and consulting companies. Mr. Amir Tussupkhanov, Partner, Director of the Industry and Trade Dept. of GRATA Law Firm took part at the forum.

The participants concluded that the event marked a new phase of developing the bilateral trade and economic relations in the diverse spheres: oil and gas industry, energy, engineering, transport and communications, delivery and maintenance of refinery, mining, agricultural equipment, scientific-innovation activity, IT technologies and investment projects.
