On April 26, 2006 the 3rd Kazakhstan Petrochemical Conference was held in the Ankara Hotel, Almaty. The event is being organized twice a year by the Kazakhstan private enterprises and state institutions aiming to exchange information about the development of the petrochemical industry on an international scale.
The main objective of the 3rd Conference is to widely present latest information on the development of the 1st Integrated Petrochemical Complex in Western Kazakhstan. The Project is developed under State Mid-Term Program of Petrochemical Industry Development in Kazakhstan and General Plan for development of petrochemical industry.
Among foreign guests were representatives of international financial institutions, contracting society, technology licensors. Kazakhstan side is represented by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning, the National Company «KazMunayGas», National institutions of development, local administrations from Atyrau region, scores of local research centers and financial organizations and others. The representatives of GRATA Law Firm, Mr. Aidar Sarymsakov, Managing Partner and Ms. Dilyara Yelzhassova, Partner at the company attended the Conference.
The scope of the main Sessions included presentation of institutional framework for the Project, financing and contracting strategy, Project Implementation Plan and Schedule, Presentation of opportunities for International Contractors and Licensors.
