On June 7—8, 2006 the 13th Caspian Oil & Gas Conference was held in the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Baku, Azerbaijan. Traditionally the conference was held together with the Exhibition. The event was organized by the International Exhibition Company, ITE, Plc.
Both the exhibition and the conference were officially supported by the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Azerbaijan Republic and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).
During the Conference the topical issues were discussed: current situation and potential of the strategic development of the Caspian Seas oil & gas operations; development and perspectives of the Caspian Region; infrastructure; social responsibility and the environmental protection; sustainable development through international cooperation & investment.
In total COG 2006 hosted more 330 companies from 31 countries. Ministries and departments from Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, UK, USA, Iran, India and Pakistan; some major companies, active in the region were among them.
GRATA Law Firm took part in the conference for the 5th time in the history of the conference being aware of its political and economical impact for the region. Mr. Farhad Hacizade, Director of GRATA office in Baku attended the COG-2006.
