On June 15 the annual Summit of the Presidents of Shanghai Co-operation Organisation` member — states started in Shanghai (China).
The heads of Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the SCO Executive Secretary, the Director of the SCO Regional Antiterrorist Structure, the Foreign Ministers and the four observer countries of Mongolia, India, Pakistan and Iran participated in the Summit.
The diversity of issues were discussed during the Summit: the achievements of the SCO development for 5 years since its foundation, new plans for the future, further prospects, current regional and global problems in the spheres of security and stability, as well as the ways of fostering cooperation between the SCO members in the priority sectors of the cooperation elaborated in the framework of the Organisation and others were among them.
Special attention was paid to the foundation session of the SCO Entrepreneurs Committee, the Forum of the industrialists and entrepreneurs of the SCO member — states, and to the foundation meeting of the SCO Interbanking Unit. As emphasized the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev «precisely these mechanisms will further develop the trade-economic, financial, investment cooperation in the frame of SCO.»
