Another conference on Kazakhstan's opportunities for business was organized in Kazakhstan. On July 5, 2006 the international investment conference «Investing in Kazakhstan's future» was held in Almaty. The event was organized by Chatham House, a research UK organization and a Kazakhstan company, the Central Asian Fund of democracy development. The conference was supported by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The main objective of the conference was to attract attention of business environment, official bodies, and experts to Kazakhstan strategic goals of development, mechanisms and ways of creating a diversified economic complex.
The representatives of Ministries and state departments of Kazakhstan, financial and investment institutions, heads of industrial, servicing and consulting Kazakhstan and UK companies attended the conference. GRATA Law Firm was presented at the conference in the persons of the company's Managing Partners Messrs. Tlek Baigabulov and Aidar Sarymsakov, and Ms. Aliya Aralbayeva, a lawyer, GRATA representative in London.
Top-managers of such leading companies and organizations as KazMunaiGas, The Royal Academy of Engineering, Shell, National Bank of Kazakhstan, Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan and others spoke at the conference. During the conference foreign participants of the conference kept raising in their speeches the problem of supplying Kazakhstan economy with qualified professional personnel. But notwithstanding outlined problems the British side demonstrated eagerness and readiness to keep working in Kazakhstan.
