Russian Chamber of Commerce opens in Central Asia

 

On July 11—12, 2006 the events dedicated to the opening of the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in Central Asia were held in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

On July 11, Round Tables were organized. The participants discussed the issues of regulation of the foreign trade activity of the EEC state-members, the development of stock and bonds market. The presentations of the economic potential of the Volgograd, Omsk, Saratov oblasts, and the Republic of Mordovia were made.

In total the Russian participants of the Opening numbered 44 companies operating in various spheres of economy (mining, oil and gas, food industry, agriculture, engineering, construction etc.), as well as the representatives of Russian oblast and federal Chambers.

On July 12, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized bilateral talks of Russian and Kazakhstan businessmen. The talks took place in the Astana Hotel, Almaty.

The talks were extended to multilateral with the participation of the representatives of Kyrgyz, Tadjik, Turkmen and Uzbek companies and firms.
