Rashid Saniyazov, Partner & Head of the Environmental Law Group and Gulsulu Ibrayeva, Development Partner of GRATA Law firm's Environmental Law Group both took part in a one-day international Seminar, which was held with the support of the Center for Stable Production and Consumption. The Seminar was organized in Almaty, and was held on 7 December 2006.

Representatives of the KANMSD (Kazakhstani Association of Nature Management for Sustainable Development), environmental protection managers of large enterprises (such as Kazkhrom), Kazakh & Russian NGOs and other organizations all attended the Seminar.

During the Seminar, discussions regarding the necessity of ratings and their topicality were held. Also discussed were issues of who should hold ratings, the best methodology and which sources of financing should be used.

The Seminar established certain recommendations.
