The Kazakhstan-Norwegian Business Forum "Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Norway in the Field of Power"

The Kazakhstan-Norwegian Business Forum "Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Norway in the Field of Power"On 5th February 2010 at the Rixos Hotel, work began on the Kazakhstan-Norwegian business forum, the Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Norway in the Field of Power, in which the Director of the Astana branch of GRATA Law Firm, Samat Daumov, and a junior GRATA lawyer, Ainura Smagulova, played an active role.

The Crown Prince of Norway, Prince Haakon Magnus, made a speech about the relationship between Kazakhstan and Norway, underlining the significance of the business forum. Prince Haakon spoke about the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two countries, having recognised the enormous potential of the power sector, especially in the areas of oil and gas. He also highlighted the possibility of furthering cooperation in other areas such as tourism and water transport, in light of the fact that 40% of the seafood that Kazakhstan imports is from Norway.

Having recognised Kazakhstan’s success in furthering political, economic and social development, Prince Haakon declared that today, Astana is a reflection of the considerable development that has occurred throughout the various regions of Kazakhstan.
