On 15 - 19 June 2014 there was the 21st World Petroleum Congress held in Moscow

WPC is the hight point of the petroleum industry held by the Permanent Council of the World Petroleum Congress. Every three years thousands of experts from around the world gather at the forum to learn about the latest oil and gas recovery technologies and petroleum business management methods.

The World Petroleum Congress and Exhibition (WPC) is traditionally of high interest for the largest oil and gas companies. 

The WPC 2014 was attended by over 5,000 delegates and 550 speakers from 90 countries.

The congress incorporated the following plenary sessions:

  1. Prospects for the Russian oil industry
  2. Growth strategy for the energy sector in the developing world
  3. Role of petroleum industry to ensure global development
  4. Science and technologies:  providing energy supplies for future
  5. New horizons of conventional and unconventional oil-and-gas resources
  6. Requirements or concerned parties, "License for operations"
  7. Stable industry financing
  8. Consumers - producers:  the new balance of powers
  9. Ensuring industrial and environmental health and safety
  10. Geopolitical cooperation:  ensuring long-term energy stability
  11. Improving governance and ethical standards
