Education
Almat graduated from the Kazakh State University of Law with a distinction in
2004. He then undertook a postgraduate course in Taxation, and is currently
studying at the Kazakh Humanitarian University.
He has taken part in numerous training courses on both European and Kazakh law.
These include EU law training, which was sponsored by TACIS, and training on
Transfer Pricing provided by the Kazakh Ministry of Finance.
Experience
Almat has extensive experience in tax, transfer pricing, investment, oil and gas
sectors as well as in the field of litigation.
Almat's practice is focussed on tax issues encountered by all kinds of
companies active in Kazakhstan such as oil industry companies, as well as
financial institutions. He acts as a regular corporate adviser to a number of
high profile international and Kazakh clients.
Almat is a member of the Kazak Petroleum Lawyers' Association and is the
authorised representative of the Kazakh Taxpayers' Association.
Almat speaks fluent Russian and English.
