from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)(London, UK).

Marina Kahiani is a Senior
Lawyer in the Finance and Securities Department at GRATA Law Firm.
Marina joined GRATA as a London representative office in September 2008,
relocated to Almaty head office in September 2009. Previously she also worked
for two years as a Banker at BTA Bank, International Funding Department.

Sogrinsk LLP, a large electricity and heat power producer in Kazakhstan

- Advising EBRD 1.236 billion KZT senior loan
to Aktau TVS&V, water and district heating company of the City of
Aktau, Kazakhstan (ongoing);
- Advising EBRD 13.6 EUR million loan to water and
waste water disposal company in Kazakhstan (ongoing);
- Advising EBRD 10 million USD loan to a drilling
services company in Kazakhstan (ongoing);
- Advising EBRD on a syndicated loan to a Russian
group of companies, as well as advice on issues concerned with a Kazakh
company pledging its shares, movables and immovables.

- advising dealers and a trustee on a 3 billion USD
transaction as part of Euro Medium Term Note Program of Eurasian Natural
Resources Corporation PLC, guaranteed by Kazakh guarantors;
- advising International Finance Corporation on the
financing of a sea vessels purchase and mortgage of fleet;
- advising the Eurasian Development Bank on the
financing of sea vessels construction and purchase and mortgage of vessels
under construction;
- advising the Islamic Development Bank on Murabaha
transaction;
- advising on a potential transaction regarding the
issuance of sovereign sukuk (ongoing);
- advising a foreign financial company with regards
to offering and sale of derivatives products in Kazakhstan and general
local legal framework for derivatives;
- advising foreign creditors on BTA Bank and
Alliance Bank restructuring and general insolvency proceedings in
Kazakhstan.
