
Bolat Miyatov, Partner (Almaty)
Education Bolat graduated from the Kazakh Humanitarian Law University (Almaty), with a diploma in Law with a distinction, in 2003. Then he successfully undertook securities market courses to receive a Kazakh broker/dealer qualification categories. Experience Bolat Miyatov is a Corporate Partner at GRATA Law Firm, Almaty, and the Head of the Corporate and Labour Law groups. Bolat has extensive experience in the banking and finance sector, where he has advised on matters concerning debt capital markets, cross-border financing transactions, trade finance, syndicated loans and securities transactions. He has also significant experience in corporate secretary and compliance matters, Kazakh corporate law and M&A transactions. Bolat joined GRATA in March 2009 and currently focuses on M&A deals and anti-monopoly issues. Major deals that he has advised on include acting for the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank group, dealing with equity investment in Bank CenterCredit (Kazakhstan) and advising Punjab National Bank, the second major state-owned bank of India, on its recent acquisition of Dana Bank (Kazakhstan). Bolat regularly advises Kazakh and foreign clients on issues of corporate governance and employment law, including matters of employment for key managerial positions. Bolat speaks Kazakh, English and Russian fluently. |
