Experience

Samat is a Partner and a Director of GRATA’s branch office in Astana.

He gained extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, as well as in the oil and gas sector. Samat specialises in corporate and commercial matters, including those relating to oil and gas companies.

Samat has represented many major international and Kazakh clients. Samat’s extensive experience includes advising leading companies through the preparation of memorandums on various legal issues and contracts including petroleum and petroleum products sale contracts, goods, supplies and rent. Samat has further experience in conducting due diligence of individual transactions and entities, reviewing contracts for compliance with legal requirements, providing comments and recommendations on necessary amendments and changes whilst safeguarding clients’ interest.

Samat is a member of the Kazakh Petroleum Lawyers Association and an attorney at the Austrian Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Samat is fluent in Russian and English.
