V Annual Forum of Corporate Lawyers 2010 and Annual Award “Best Law Firms of the Year”

GRATA Law Firm has participated in the V Annual Forum of Corporate Lawyers 2010 held on 18-19 November 2010 in Holiday Inn Hotel, Almaty.

The event has been mainly aimed at the creation of a platform for the open dialogue between corporate lawyers and consultants in solving legal issues, providing participants with opportunities to share experience and latest news in a friendly atmosphere as well as to establish business relations. Everyone could express its view that allows removing the barrier between speakers and audience.

Almat Daumov, Partner and Head of Natural Resources Department in GRATA, took part in the first session ‘Topical Issues of Tax, Anti-Monopoly, and Judicial Law’.

GRATA lawyers took part in cross-light of the following topics:
‘Topical Issues Within Proceedings On Execution of Court Resolutions and Acts’. Speaker – Shakhrukh Usmanov, Head of Dispute Resolution Department in GRATA;
‘Topical Issues of Confidentiality in Arbitration’. Speaker – Zhibek Karamanova, GRATA Lawyer;
‘Judicial Opinion in Unilateral Contracts Termination’. Speaker – Victoriya Katanayeva, GRATA Partner;
‘Legal Aspects of Investing into the Power Industry of Kazakhstan under Project Financing Principles’. Speaker – Shaimerden Chikanayev, GRATA Partner;
‘M&A Transactions Structuring’. Speaker – Bolat Miyatov, GRATA Partner.

Annual Award “Best Law Firms of the Year” was performed in the framework of the V Annual Forum of Corporate Lawyers 2010.

The mission of awarding was the development of high-quality services in Kazakhstan, assisting companies in selecting advisers and consultants, the recognition of merit and qualifications by their clients. Among the nominees for the ceremony there were the leading legal and consulting companies of Kazakhstan, firmly proved their names in the market.

Awarding decisions were taken by the independent judges based on the survey among the clients of law firms.  

GRATA Law Firm was recognised as the best firm in the following categories:

- Capital Markets Team of the Year

 

- Mining Team of the Year  

Each winner was awarded with figures and certificates, and the results of the competition held will be published in the leading mass media of the Republic of Kazakhstan and on Internet portal www.zakon.kz.

Such awarding will be performed on a permanent basis as a part of the annual forum of corporate lawyers.
