Education
Rashid is a dual-qualified English and Kazakh lawyer.
He graduated from the Kazakh State Law University (Almaty), with a diploma in Law with Distinction, in 1998, before undertaking a Masters degree in Petroleum and Mineral Law policy at Dundee University from 1998-2000.
Rashid then qualified as a Solicitor of England and Wales, firstly undertaking his academic training at BPP Law School and then by completing his practical training at Norton Rose, a top London Law Firm.
Rashid speaks Kazakh, fluent English and Russian.
Experience
Rashid has extensive experience in Natural Resources, Banking and Finance and Corporate law. His practice is focused on multinationals, industry and financial institutions. He acts regularly for a number of high profile international and Kazakh clients.
Rashid is currently head of GRATA's Natural Resources team as well as acting as a relationship partner for other law firms.
Rashid is also a regular speaker at International Oil and gas Conferences and has contributed to numerous journals on similar topics.
