Zafar graduated from the Tashkent State Law Institute in 1997. He then undertook Masters programs in International Business Law, in Budapest, Hungary and in EU law, at Beilefeld University in Germany.

Zafar also undertook a Management Accounting and International Taxation course, run by PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 2000.

Zafar speaks Uzbek, Russian and English. He is studying Italian and French.

Zafar is currently a Managing Partner for the firm and controls its activities in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.

He specializes in Investment, tax, corporate, commercial and contract law.

Before joining GRATA, Zafar was a managing partner of a Tashkent-based law firm, worked for PWC (as a tax consultant) and for Cameron McKenna.

Zafar is a member of the Uzbekistan Bar Association.
