General guidelines.
Certification is a procedure by means of which the authorized body verifies the conformance of requirements for products (services). The result of such certification is supposed to be a concordance certificate of Kazakhstani standards, which is valid within the whole territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

There are two types of certification: voluntary and obligatory.
1. The voluntary certification - is a procedure, by means of which confirmation of products (services, operations) conformance is made according to fixed standards, documents or applicant’s special requirements. The authorized body in Certification sphere – is a legal entity accredited for fulfillment of conformance confirmation operations.
One of such accredited bodies of conformance confirmation is the National Centre of Expert Review and Certification (further – THE CENTRE), which is an assignee of the Technical Regulation Committee (Gosstandard). Since 1923 the Centre has been operating in the Kazakhstani market as a verification chamber and has been specializing in certification issues since 1994.

How can GRATA assist the formalization in conformance certificates?

Sometimes, those companies that intend to import their products or equipment for sale in Kazakhstan face a problem in determining the obligatory or voluntary certifications.
