
Angela Merkel named the visit to Kazakhstan as being historicalThe Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Angela Merkel, was invited to Astana on 18 July 2010 by the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Junior Lawyer, Ainur Smagulova from GRATA Law Firm actively participated in the conference. Angela Merkel appreciated the co-operation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Germany, having underlined that the Republic of Kazakhstan is unique in that it is the basic partner of Germany in the Central Asian region. Angela Merkel noted the following; “Deliveries of petroleum from the Republic of Kazakhstan for us are imperative. For Germany, it is the fourth importance supplier of power resources” – results; Deutsche Welle Angela Merkel explained that Germany is interested in the development and co-operation in the fields of power, telecommunications, buildings, mechanical engineering and agriculture. In this regard, Angela Merkel made compliments to the efforts of Astana upon joining the World Trade Organisation and explained that Germany expects for prompt introduction of the Republic of Kazakhstan into the World Trade Organisation. Angela Merkel named the visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan as being historical and explained that to further relations between both countries, there is planned signing of investment contracts for the minimum sum of two billion euros. The Chairman of OSCE within the Republic of Kazakhstan informed Angela Mekel that what has been noted shall adhere to such values as freedom, safety, democracy and human rights. |
